This is my second year at Southeast and I feel very fortunate to be a part of Southeast School. I entered here as a 4th grade teacher for the 2013-2014 school year and am now moving to 5th grade. Each day the students make me learn, laugh, and love to teach. I am thrilled to be joining the 5th grade team for the 2014-2015 school year. After implementing the 1:1 initiative with the 4th grade last year, I am eager to join another 1:1 initiative with Chromebooks. Please visit the Chromebook page and the Google Apps for Education page for more information regarding the use of Chromebooks in the classroom. These will be excellent tools for the students to enhance the learning experience and maintain student engagement. Your child will experience unique and memorable learning opportunities that will promote creativity and foster active learning. It is such a privilege that these students are able to utilize these devices at the elementary level.
My goal is to work together to help each child succeed, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. On the home page, you will find a Conference Form that can be completed at any time if you would like to discuss anything pertaining to your child.
A little background....
I graduated from Saint Xavier University and student taught in Orland Park. I was a substitute teacher there for about 6 months before starting at Southeast. It was a great learning experience to be in multiple classrooms and visit many schools. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago and attended Saint Christina Elementary School and Mother McAuley High School. I come from a wonderful family. My dad is a Chicago Fireman and my mom works at Brother Rice High School. I have a sister and a brother. They are both married and have blessed me with 2 nieces and 3 nephews. My brother lives in Chicago as well but my sister lives in Iowa City, Iowa. I love to spend time with them and cherish all the memories we have together. This past Fourth of July I got engaged to a wonderful man who is a Palos Heights Fireman and Paramedic. We are looking forward to the big day this Spring. Therefore, my days as Ms. Jantz are coming to an end but I cannot wait to become Mrs. Reilly by the end of this school year!
